Odyssey of the Mind Maine was a fun project to work on. "MAC" is the Maine affiliate of Odyssey of the Mind which was formed in direct response to the expressed desire of many young people in the state to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind creative problem solving program. This Non-profit organization hosts national competitions for talented youngsters. These competitions test creativity and team work in the humanities. Our challange was to create a child-friendly, radiant website while not compromising readability and ease of navigation. Lautus Design re-designed the client's website and currently hosts the web content and databases.
"Peter and Chad did a fantastic job taking our old web site and turning it into a very professional and simple site. It is easy to navigate and provides our organization's participants with information they need to make their involvement with the program easier. Not only did they rebuild the site, but also provided valuable advice on what would and would not work and gave us ideas for improvement we can make in the future as our program grows."- Karen
Eco Reef Systems was established October 21, 2008. ERS will go to a home or business to determine what sized eco reef system will suit their needs. We will install and maintain reef tanks working off of routine service plans. The frequency and extent of each individual service can vary drastically depending on the volume, size and type of aquarium. ERS will work with the client in the best interest of the aquariums livestock to determine the which plan of maintenance will promote endless potential for greatness. To avoid further harvesting of the reefs ERS also propagates it own aqua cultured SPS, LPS and soft coral which will be used in the tanks of clients whenever possible.
We took the youthful personality of our logo and print designs and chose to put a darker spin on it. We chose the color of business suits and briefcases, and decorated it with a wireframe version of the logo (suggesting a behind-the-scenes orientation). In doing this, we marketed a deeper character for the company and the intended cardholder - that of a detail-minded professional. The youthful character of our logo design carried over to everything else we created for Pricefalls, including the brochure we handed out at meetings.

The client's only guidelines for us; use a splash of red to represent the violence in the play, and make it look like Chad's senior thesis (See Graphic Design - Kafka). Chad used a combination of illustration and 3D rendering to create a scene that was both two- and three-dimensional, which lent itself to the understated surreality of the play. We also made postcards in the same fashion.

John wanted to create postcards as a marketing tool to promote both his website and his books. Here we took the literal approach - replicating the website main page, supplemented by promotional text.
Stephen sought to promote the website we built for him via postcards (a service requested by many of our clients with very positive results). He outlined that he wanted it to resemble the website, but with some extra flair. We included iconography commonly associated with theater and acting, such as stage lights and the Comedy and Tragedy masks.
Bill loved the website, but as a politician he took his campaign further by going door-todoor to meet the voters personally. As such, we were asked to create a flyer that would outline the tenets of his run as well as represent him as a down-to-earth Maine resident.
